Kim Ji-soo was born in Gunpo, Gyeonggi, South Korea to parents Kim Ha-Joon and Kim Ji-Yoo. She was born on January 3, 1995, making her 30 years old as of now. She has two nicknames apart from Jisoo-ya and Sooya, that is Jichu and Chi Choo.

In 2011, Jisoo was selected as trainee in YG Entertainment, and was later asked to join BLACKPINK girl group. Among all four members, she is the oldest.
